WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe…
- There is one God, with three distinct personalities, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
- That Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, died on the cross, arose from the grave, and ascended into heaven.
- That Jesus Christ is our only Savior from the effects of sin, and must be given his rightful place as Lord of our lives.
- That the Bible is the inspired Word of God, and is the only guide we need for daily living.
- That the Holy Spirit is God’s gift to the church today. He is involved in the totality of the Christian experience. He is our source of power for holy living.
- That God call every person to a disciplined life of prayer, Bible study, worship, witness, and joyful service.
- That Jesus Christ will come again, to judge the living and the dead. To accept Him means not only an eternal life, but an abundant one as well.
ABOUT OUR PASTOR
Our pastor, Steve Hilby, originally comes from Seattle, WA. He and his family have lived in the Bay Area since 1979. He is a graduate of Anderson School of Theology, in Anderson, IN. (and yes, he really did miss the west coast) Steve has pastored churches in Redwood City, Milpitas, and Oakland. He also has served in a church in San Jose, before coming to Tracy to begin the the South Tracy Community Church in 1998.
Steve and his beautiful wife, Ruthie, married in 1975. They have three grown children, Shaun, a pastor in Glendale, CA, Ryan, a store manager in Colorado Springs, CO, and Brianna, a teacher in Tracy, CA. Their greatest passion, besides the church, is their grandchildren.
Steve has experience in providing relevant, biblical, and humorous messages. He believes in a personal, relational style both of preaching, and of living.
